What You Need To Know About Apple's New iOS 8

Apple has released iOS 8 to the world, but how do you download it, what Apple devices are compatible and what new features come with it? Check out everything you need to know.

Compatibility
The new iOS 8 is compatible with iPhone 4S or newer iPhone generations and iPad 2 or newer. Only the iPhone 4 is cut from the list.
Both the iPads mini and iPad mini 2 tablets and the forever alone iPod touch 5th generation are also going to work with the new iOS, just like they did with iOS 7. No one besides 2010's iPhone 4 gets left behind.

How To Download iOS 8
Firstly, make sure you've got space for the update. You'll need at least a gig and a half of free storage.You can check how much storage is free on your device by navigating to Settings, then General and then select Usage. 

It is important to perform a full backup to either your computer or iCloud account, in case things go wrong.

Make sure your iPhone or iPad is either plugged in or charged up.

Update can then be completed through Wi-Fi connection or iTunes. 

Updating with Wi-Fi is easy, on your Apple device, head to Settings, then General, and then Software Update. You'll get a message asking if you wish to download. Click on update/download. It'll take a while.

To update through iTunes, just hook up to your computer via USB and open iTunes, and the option to update should automatically appear.
