Google released the latest version of the Gmail app (Gmail 5.0) for Android on Monday 3rd November 2014. The new look app comes with sleeker transitions between panes and the ability to set up other email accounts.
As part of the new design, there’s now a convenient reply button at the bottom of every message, making it quick and easy to continue a conversation when you’re on the go. And if you access the app on your Android tablet, you’ll notice it’s easier to switch between accounts and the different inbox categories.
The most interesting part of this update is the fact that you can now set up all types of email accounts on the new Gmail app using POP/IMAP. This means that all your email addresses such as yahoo Mail, outlook or AOL Mail will be in one place. You can switch between accounts by opening the left-hand slide-out menu and swiping across your profile banner. You can also tap the small arrow and choose an account from the list.
The updated Gmail app will support all Android 4.0+ devices, It is available on the Google Play Store. You can manually download the Gmail APK from here.
